Finbar is a British/Irish filmmaker. He studied BSc Film and Television Production at the University of York, and currently resides in London.
He's been shooting, directing, producing, editing, you name it, for as long as he can remember and has created work for CASIO, Hyatt, Bailey, QBE, Wiley, Caravan & Motorhome Club to name just a few. His work ranges from commercial and film, to music video, documentary and online content.
He directs and produces film projects through his company Umbra Motion Picture Company, with a focus on bending and defying genre -what's the point of making something that can be easily labelled??
He is currently producing a slate of films including Sian Astor-Lewis’s feature film 'To Nowhere' which has its theatrical release in June 2023, and feature documentary film 'A Distant Call' that has secured financing from multiple production grants and is currently in production in Indonesia. A Distant Call was recently selected for Cannes Film Festival Docs-In-Progress 2023, where it won the Documentary Association of Europe Award.
Finbar has also presented his projects at Sheffield DocFest, DMZ Industry and Docs By The Sea among others.
